Artist Profile

Quinn Sutherland

Quinn is a rising force in the world of blues, rock, and alt-pop.  Quinn showed an early love and affinity for music before he even started grade school.  He began learning guitar at the age of 7 and, by the time he was 11, community music programs like the School of Rock House Band (78 N), and Grand River Blues Society Blues camp, were convinced to flex their minimum age requirements to allow him the opportunity to participate and showcase his talents.   Starting his independent musical journey at just 12 years old as the lead guitarist and backing vocalist for local band The Bend, Quinn quickly made his mark on the scene. By 13, he was already busking at farmers' markets, earning a reputation for his raw talent and soulful performances.

Now, at 18, Quinn is taking the music scene by storm as the lead guitarist and co-vocalist for Fraidy Scats (Polished Bone), a dynamic blues/blues-rock band that recently represented the Grand River Blues Society at the prestigious International Blues Challenge Showcase in Memphis, Tennessee. In addition to his band work, Quinn captivates audiences with his solo shows at local pub venues, blending his guitar prowess with smooth, heartfelt vocals.

Currently, Quinn is adding the final touches to his upcoming release of his debut EP—a collection of self-written, recorded, and produced indie rock/pop-rock originals. One of the originals intended for this release, "Foolish", was a national finalist in the 2025 Music in Motion Canada Song Competition.

With his infectious energy, undeniable talent, and unique voice, Quinn Sutherland is an artist to watch as he continues to push the boundaries of his musical journey.
